New services in Portugal awarded to Famase under the Facility Management contract for JD Sports.

Famase LogoJD Sports in Portugal, part of the Sprinter chain, has once again entrusted Famase FM&S with the FM management of its 5 new shopping centres in Coimbra-Forum, Viseu, Portimao, Faro and Madeira, which together with the current contract for maintenance & cleaning services at the centres in Lisbon Sintra, Porto, Albufeira and Vila Real, total 18 centres across the country.

The JD Sports chain totals 318 points of sale in the Peninsula. Specifically, JD Sprinter contributed 168 points of sale in Spain (127 ‘Sprinter’ and 41 ‘JD’) and 13 in Portugal (all of them ‘JD’).

The new group totals a turnover of more than 500 million euros, with an 11% market share of the sports channel in the Iberian Peninsula. In addition, as part of the expansion plan, JD forecasts the opening of a further 15 new spaces in the main shopping centres in the Iberian area, which will make it possible to reach the expected annual revenue of 90 million euros for this season.

FM&S has been entrusted with the contract to manage preventive and corrective maintenance for all its centres in Portugal, as well as the cleaning programme, included in our IMoB programme. Integral Mantenance of Building is the working discipline that enables the client to contract, manage and resolve preventive, corrective and, where applicable, predictive maintenance of facilities in their corporate buildings.

A clear objective is to guarantee, through the Integral Mantenance of Building plan, the total management of the buildings or offices that the COMPANY has spread across different geographical areas.
Ensuring the life of the buildings with general maintenance services and leveraging the synergies that are implemented, we jointly manage those services referred to as “common elements”.

These are the ones the community needs but that do not interrupt its “core business”, such as cleaning, security, gardening, disinfection, waste management, reception or any other value-added service.

The management of an external Consultant or Auditor enables knowledge of the facilities as well as the ability to adopt measures tailored to the client and their real needs, and never in a standard way.

The capability and responsiveness of a building data system, using a CMMS programme, makes it possible to adopt measures ensuring 100% compliance with the maintenance plan and the common elements services.
