The Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all Member States in 2015 as a universal call to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
The main objective of the 17 SDGs is to balance environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
This is why the SDGs have been designed to bring the world several life-changing “zeros”, including zero poverty, zero hunger, zero AIDS, and zero discrimination against women and girls.
Everyone is needed to achieve these ambitious goals. The creativity, knowledge, technology, and financial resources of the whole of society are required to achieve the SDGs in every context.
